Giving Hope (in a Bottle) to the Nation's Children

As a beverage fanatic, I have tried a lot of bottled drinks, from sodas, juices, teas, coffees and the like. But never have I ever thought that a simple bottle of water could mean a lot for those people (those children) who is in dire need of a good place to learn.

Hope in a Bottle is a cause oriented foundation under Friends of Hope, Inc. that was dedicated to give 100 percent of their profit to the building of public school classrooms all around the nation.

As a product of a public school, I know how deprived the schools are of resources. Books are shared by 5 or more kids, classrooms are shared by 50 or more students, utilities are not enough for learning, and other sort of problems. Fortunately for me, I was lucky enough to belong in a class of 40 students, with enough resource, time and utilities to learn. But that did not leave me blindsighted on the reality, that is our deprived education.

More than 88 percent of Filipino students are studying under public schools and are suffering from classroom shortage. With our growing population and our new curriculum, the shortage will still be an issue that needs to be looked at.

I know that the government has been resolving this problem for a few years now, but we can't really rely on the government to solve everything. So it is a good move for people to do this kind of commitment to solve our nations problem with their own efforts.

The idea of using bottled water as a way to send a message, to earn money, and to build a nation was an idea worth respecting due to several factors: (1) It is a basic necessity, (2) it is not that expensive to manufacture, market and deliver, (3) it is affordable for the public for only 30 pesos a bottle (a small price to pay for a better future) and; (4) it is a really good idea.

I am not asking you to buy every bottle of Hope in the market, I am asking you to do something to help with the cause. There are many ways to do so, find the best way that you can help in your own pace, your own time and your skill.
